Technoedif Engenharia SA is the Portugal leader in Engineering, Procurement and Construction services to the Industry and Energy Fields. In order to further develop these objectives, Technoedif Engenharia is currently seeking a Steel Structures Superintendent (Superintendente de Estruturas Metálicas), to join a EPCm team based in Sines, to be permanently assigned to our project of green transition, reporting to Construction Manager.
Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
• Supervises and coordinates activities of steel structures supervisors providing constructive feedback;
• Encourages and promotes communication and teamwork;
• Collaborating with field engineers and subcontractors to overcome project needs;
• Planning construction processes;
• Monitoring and reporting on project progress;
• Answering all site technical queries with proposed solution as per project standard;
• Reviewing Method Statements, drawings, schedules and other job safety documents;
• Monitors manpower, tools and equipments usage on the site;
• Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules;
• Requesting and review materials certificates;
• Support the Quality Control Manager (QCM) in performing the quality control activities in light of;
• Ensure timely resolution of any QC problems encountered during construction;
• Attend daily and weekly coordination meetings;
• Attending weekly production meeting with the client and sub contractor to resolve all possible problem of erection work;
• Attending toolbox talk with especial discussion of job safety;
• Assist in system walkdowns with contractor and client;
• Assist managing contractor to monitor progress & productivity being reported by contractors;
• Assist Construction Manager in developing detailed reporting of assessment of works and contractor performance.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or M. SC Degree;
• Minimum five years of experience in Oil & Gas/green energy Industry, EPCm type contract;
• Excellent construction site management skills;
• In-depth knowledge on steel structure fabrication and installation;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English;
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines;
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
